The Corewell Health West Medical Group is recruiting for the Primary Health Department Chief position.  This role will encompass leadership over the full spectrum of primary health, including Primary Care, Urgent Care, Virtual Primary Care, Virtual Urgent Care, Endocrinology, Geriatrics,  Palliative Care and Behavior Health. The Department Chief reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer.

This role provides over-arching leadership and strategic direction for our talented team of physicians and advanced practice providers with a strong focus of moving to a value-based system of care while expanding the number of patients we serve.  With a thorough understanding of population health and change management, the Department Chief develops and implements improved models of clinical care consistent with Accountable Care principles and other innovative primary care practice models.

Strong proven ability to communicate up and down the chain of command is a must to be successful in this role.  The new Department Chief of Primary Health will have the ability to take the established system goals and weave them into the goals of Primary Health in a progressive patient-centered innovative way.

The department of Primary Health has 500 physicians and advanced practice professionals providing care to patients in 78 sites of care throughout West Michigan.  Within the department there exists a dyad structure with a dedicated vice president of operations, further supported by an experienced team of division chiefs and operations directors that oversee these various managers and sites.
