The Administrative Leadership Fellow is a dual-role position designed to develop future leaders in academic family medicine. The fellow will dedicate 50% of her time to clinical care and resident education at the Main Street Family Medicine Clinic, and the remaining 50% to fellowship training, administrative mentorship, and coursework toward a Master of Public Health (MPH).
Primary Job Duties:
Clinical & Teaching Responsibilities (50%):
Provide high-quality primary care to patients at the Main Street Clinic. Serve as a clinical preceptor for family medicine residents, offering supervision, teaching, and feedback in the outpatient setting. Participate in clinical team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and interdisciplinary collaboration within the clinic.
Fellowship Responsibilities (50%):
Engage in structured administrative leadership training under the guidance of Dr. Mainous and other departmental vice chairs. Participate in research training. Contribute to ongoing departmental research and quality improvement projects aligned with strategic goals. Shadow and collaborate with vice chairs in areas such as clinical operations, education, research, and community engagement to gain practical leadership experience. Enroll in and complete coursework toward a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree, integrating learning into fellowship activities as applicable. Attend leadership seminars, departmental meetings, and faculty development sessions as part of the structured fellowship curriculum.
Requirements
Our fellowship program accepts one fellow each year and is open to applicants trained in Family Medicine. Applicants must be rising third year residents of an ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency Program or a graduate of an ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency Program. Our program does not accept J-1 Visa applicants at this time.
