The Department of Family Medicine at Denver Health is recruiting for a full time Family Medicine Physicians to join our Family Medicine Deparmtnet. Our Patient Centered Medical Home/Federally Qualified Health Center consists of a group of physicians and advanced Practice providers, working in a team based care model, with MA, Nurses, social workers, patient navigators, integrated behavioral health and addiction counselors.  The Family Medicine division at Denver Health is part of a fully integrated network of 10 community health centers, 17 school-based clinics, and a Level I 525-licensed bed hospital with a mission of providing access to quality preventive, acute, and chronic health care for all citizens of Denver, regardless of ability to pay. Denver Health is affiliated with the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, and serves as a training site Family Medicine residents.

The successful applicant will be joining a department that consists of 30+ primary care physicians, 20+ advanced care providers and a dynamic team of allied health and front office staff.  Physicians interested in practicing and teaching primary care in a dynamic, state-of-the-art health care delivery system are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
1. Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients of all ages with acute and chronic illnesses, including major and complicated, and perform procedures learned in training. 2. Provide preventative and therapeutic care for patients of all ages. This includes, preventative care, acute care, prenatal care, care of injured persons, management of chronic illnesses, and performance of procedures learned in training. 3. Supervise house staff in providing care for patients of all ages in ambulatory settings. 4. Performs privileged procedures as outlined in the Denver Health and Hospital Authority Department of Family Medicine Clinical Privileges documentation. 5. Responsible for management of staff and the operations of a clinic at Denver Health. 6. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
1. Has adequate knowledge and skill of all privileged procedures as outlined in the Denver Health and Hospital Authority Department of Family Medicine Clinical Privileges documentation. 2. Knowledge and interest in multi-disciplinary ambulatory care, ability to work in teams and motivate physicians and other providers to improve quality, patient experience and operational efficiency. 3. Communicate effectively with a wide variety of staff as well as administration. 4. Possess critical thinking, analytical and teaching/coaching skills. 5.  Able to receive detailed information through oral communications; express or exchange ideas by verbal communications. 6. Excellent written and verbal communications, listening, and social skills. 7. Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels and value systems. 8. Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships. 9. Demonstrated history of positive collegial relations with colleagues, support staff, providers, administrators and patients. 10. Ability to participate in and foster an inclusive community and experience working with diverse groups of patients, providers and staff.

Education/ Credentials   
• Doctorate Degree (Required) 1. Medical Doctor or Doctor of Medicine 2. Successful completion of an American Board of Family Medicine or American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine approved post-graduate training program in Family Medicine, or successful completion of a Family Medicine Residency program approved by another equivalent organization (e.g. International) or deemed appropriate by the Director of Family Medicine. 3. Board Certification in Family Medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice within 3 years of graduation from an approved post-graduate training program in Family Medicine as defined above, or current certification in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice. (Physicians who have been previously certified must be currently certified and maintain certification.) 4. Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
